A large automotive OEM had established a subsidiary in the South African market which was achieving modest sales in both the Passenger and Light Commercial Vehicle segments.
The OEM required assistance to develop a growth strategy.
Approach
We reviewed existing strategy and evaluated the growth in market segments in which the client competed.
The market outlook was modelled and forecast, competitor strategies were identified and customer analysis undertaken.
Recommended product and channel strategy, including product pipeline and evolution of retail operating model.
Prepared a three-year strategy, which detailed marketing strategies, critical capabilities to be developed to deliver identified CVPs and other key operational initiatives to undertake as part of a strategy implementation roadmap.
Impact
Following on from project recommendations, the OEM achieved CAGR growth of 22% in the following three years, and rapidly progressed up the league table.
